My guess would be that the WinXP computer was set correctly to connect, and the Work Network was set to accept a connection from it. I am trying to connect to my work computer and keep getting an error. Therefore I do not have any of the settings to connect to Remote Desktop because the installer was installed directly from my job where they save all the settings.
All we have to do is connect via VPN and then it automatically connects us. Now on my new laptop I can connect via the VPN with no problem. But when I try to initiate a connection to the installed settings that connects to Remote Desktop it acts as if it is connecting but it is not because no data is exchanged between the client manager that shows the status of the connection and VPN and then I get an error telling me: Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons: 1 Remote access to the server is not enabled 2 The remote computer is turned off 3 the remote computer is not available on the network - Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.
I know 2 and 3 are on and the remote computer is available because it's a 24 hr worksite so it must be my computer. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread.
